Regular Season Round 10: Lakeside L. - Perth R. 94-95

Eleventh-ranked Lightning (4-7) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Redbacks (9-3) in North Lake on Friday. The visitors from Northbridge managed to secure only one-point victory 95-94. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Lightning outrebounded Redbacks 46-23 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lightning was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. The former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Redbacks players scored in double figures. American forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) added 28 points in the effort for Lightning. Redbacks maintains second position in League with 9-3 record having just thirteen point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Lightning keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. Redbacks will face Flames (#6) in Rockingham in the next round. Lightning will play at home against Giants (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
