Steaua snatched a road win over Timisoara to send the series into the decisive Game 5. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-64. Steaua CSM outrebounded BC Timisoara 39-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by BC Timisoara helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) fired 9 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. The other American import swingman Jonte Flowers (196-85, college: Winona St.) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (206-84) produced 15 points and Serbian point guard Igor Mijajlovic (192-84) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
