Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Panthers (1-7) were outscored by seventh ranked Bruins (3-5) in Condell Park 67-33 on Saturday. Bruins held Panthers to an opponent 22.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Bruins forced 23 Panthers turnovers and outrebounded them 50-35 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Panthers' players. Quite impressive performance for Briana Maimone who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Lauren Sparks (168, college: Lubbock Christian) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Tatiana Beaumont replied with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Ashleigh Kaesler added 6 points in the effort for Panthers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bruins maintains seventh position in League with 3-5 record. Newly promoted Panthers keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Bruins will have a break next round. Panthers will play at home against Hunters (#3) and hope to win that game.
