Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Crusaders (3-4) defeated 8th ranked Hills Hornets (1-7) in Baulkham Hills 65-55 on Saturday. Crusaders made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Hills Hornets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Jacinta Govind who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Charlie Evans contributed with 14 points for the winners. Crusaders' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wendy Strong replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Cassandra Pentney (169-94) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Hills Hornets. Newly promoted Crusaders maintains sixth position in League with 3-4 record. Loser Hills Hornets keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Crusaders will have a break next round. Hills Hornets will play on the road against Comets (#5) in Alexandria and hope to win that game.
