Everything could happen in Goodwood at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Eagles and 5th ranked Tigers had identical 4-3 record. This time Eagles used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Morphett Vale 67-60 on Saturday night. Eagles forced 20 Tigers turnovers. Strangely Tigers outrebounded Eagles 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Katia Stamatelopoulos contributed with 17 points for the winners. Denelle Fawcett replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Ashley Olvera (173-91, college: Arkansas St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Tigers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tigers' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Eagles (5-3) moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Tigers dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Flames (#3) in Marden in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tigers will play at home against Bearcats and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
