Regular Season Round 10: Norwood F. - Eastern M. 83-65

Very predictable result when third ranked Flames (6-2) won against 9th ranked Mavericks (1-7) in Marden 83-65 on Saturday. Flames made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Flames had a 39-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for Shannon Mckay (-90) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Chelsea Roberts contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners. Four Flames players scored in double figures. American power forward Carmen Tyson-Thomas (180-91, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Samantha Lubcke (188-96, college: Utah Valley, agency: AgainHello) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Mavericks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flames maintains third position in League with 6-2 record having just two point less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Mavericks keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Flames will face Eagles (#5) in Goodwood in the next round. Mavericks will play on the road against Warriors (#7) in Flinders Park and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
