Regular Season Round 10: Corio Bay S. - McKinnon C. 89-96

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked McKinnon C. (7-3) defeated 12th ranked Stingrays (1-8) in Geelong 96-89 on Saturday. McKinnon C. shot 26 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Stingrays only scored four points from the stripe. Stingrays were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Dillon Stith (200-92, college: St.Vincent) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian forward Ivan Platenik (201-83, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Julius Brooks (206-90, college: Loyola, MD) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and guard Joel Mcfall (189-94) added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Stingrays. Stingrays' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. McKinnon C. maintains fourth position in League with 7-3 record. Loser Stingrays keep the twelfth place with eight games lost. McKinnon C. will face Magic (#5) in Hawthorn in the next round. Stingrays will play on the road against Knox Raiders (#6) in Wantirna South and hope to win that game.
