An exciting game was played in Tokyo. Second ranked Tokyo Excel. faced 4th placed Kagoshima. Host Tokyo Excel. (11-7) smashed guests from Renova (8-10) 95-57. Tokyo Excel. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 36. They outrebounded Kagoshima 51-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tokyo Excel. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) stepped up and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Daniel Bailey (196-90, college: Queens, NC) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Tokyo Excel. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Koharu Higara (183-93) scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo Excel. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-7 record having five points less than leader Tokyo HT, which they share with Otsuka A. Kagoshima at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Tokyo Excel.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Cinq R..
