Regular Season Round 10: Joondalup W. - Lakeside L. 96-78

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Wanneroo (10-1) defeated 11th ranked Lightning (4-7) in Joondalup 96-78 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for power forward Robert Huntington (203-90, college: Nova SE) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Bryan Michaels (190, college: Concordia, OR) replied with 25 points and his fellow American import forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) added 16 points in the effort for Lightning. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wanneroo maintains first position in League with 10-1 record. Loser Lightning keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. Wanneroo will face Giants (#13) in Kalgoorlie in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lightning will play at home against Giants and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
