There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 14th ranked Arkadikos (7-23) was crushed by third ranked Iraklis (23-7) 98-68 on Saturday. The game without a history. Iraklis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Arkadikos' 38. They outrebounded Arkadikos 38-24 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Iraklis looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Arkadikos was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) chipped in 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was center Savvas Tsougarakis (207-86) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and Swedish guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively. Five Iraklis and four Arkadikos players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iraklis have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 23-7 record having six points less than leader Peristeri GS. Arkadikos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 23 games lost.
