Rather expected game when 9th ranked Central District Lions (1-7) lost to seventh ranked Sturt Sabres (3-5) in Gawler 73-83 on Saturday. Sturt Sabres looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for Daniel Nash who helped to win the game recording 24 points. The former international forward Jan Warbout (201-91) contributed with 3 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Sturt Sabres players scored in double figures. Jimma Dau replied with 18 points and American forward Keith Jumper (203-94, college: Pfeiffer) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Central District Lions. Central District Lions' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sturt Sabres maintains seventh position in League with 3-5 record. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Sturt Sabres will face higher ranked South Adelaide Panthers (#6) in Park Holme in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Central District Lions will play at home against North Adelaide Rockets and hope to win that game.
