No shocking result in a game when first ranked Kilsyth Cobras (7-1) beat on the road bottom-ranked Canberra Gunners (0-6) 97-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-85. Kilsyth Cobras made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kilsyth Cobras made 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for forward Felix Von-Hofe (196-93, college: E.Washington) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. Forward Chris Patton (208-91, college: Cal-Riverside) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Daniel Joyce (194-87) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Canberra Gunners. Four Kilsyth Cobras and five Canberra Gunners players scored in double figures. Canberra Gunners' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kilsyth Cobras maintains first position in League with 7-1 record. Loser Canberra Gunners still closes the standings with six games lost. Kilsyth Cobras will face Diamond Valley Eagles (#7) in Greensborough in the next round where they are favorite. Canberra Gunners will play at home against Bandits and hope to get finally their first victory.
