Regular Season Round 10: Melbourne T. - Bendigo LB 76-85

Not a big story in a game when 4th ranked Tigers (3-4) lost to top-ranked Lady Braves (6-0) in Melbourne 76-85 on Saturday. Tigers were trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 27-17 charge of Lady Braves, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. Point guard Monique Conti (165-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) added 31 points in the effort for Tigers. Lady Braves maintains first position in League with 6-0 record. Loser Tigers dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Lady Braves will face league's second-placed Rangers in Dandenong in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tigers will play on the road against Frankston Blues (#8) in Seaford and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
