The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Sabres' (5-4) road victory over 6th ranked Ballarat Rush (2-4) in Wendouree 73-66 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-66. Quite impressive performance for guard Hannah Kaser (178-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Rachel Jarry (185-91) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Kristy Rinaldi (181-86) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Courtney Walker (173-94, college: Texas A&M) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ballarat Rush. Sabres moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Ballarat Rush dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Sabres will face Geelong Supercats (#5) at home in the next round. Ballarat Rush will play against Frankston Blues and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
