Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Jets (4-4) won against 9th ranked Wildcats (1-7) in Eltham 73-68 on Sunday. Jets made 32-of-36 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game, while Wildcats only scored fourteen points from the stripe. It was a very good performance for Irish guard Orla Oreilly (182-90, college: Binghamton, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds. New Zealand Josephine Stockill (190, college: Colgate) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her fourteen free throws !!!) for the winners. Jets' coach used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) replied with 26 points and the former international swingman Alice Kunek (187-91) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Wildcats. Jets maintains sixth position in League with 4-4 record. Loser Wildcats keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Jets will face Cougars (#8) in McKinnon in the next round. Wildcats will play on the road against Thunder in Melbourne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
