Regular Season Round 10: SW Metro P. - Sunshine CR 69-95

There was an upset when higher ranked South West Metro Pirates (3-2) were outleveled by seventh ranked Sunshine CR (3-1) in Runcorn 95-69 on Sunday. Sunshine CR looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. South West Metro Pirates were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import guard Lance Hurdle (188-87, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Sunshine CR players scored in double figures. Center Tyrell Harrison (213-99) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jarred Bairstow (201-92, college: Cent.Oklahoma) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for South West Metro Pirates. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sunshine CR moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser South West Metro Pirates dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Sunshine CR will face Brisbane Capitals (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. South West Metro Pirates will play against Toowoomba Mountaineers (#12) and hope to win that game.
