Regular Season Round 26: Lavrio - Panathinaikos 57-111

A1 top team - Panathinaikos (26-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Lavrio (14-12) 111-57. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lavrio's 26. Panathinaikos forced 20 Lavrio turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lavrio's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Nikos Pappas (194-90) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) chipped in 15 points and 8 assists. Five Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. American guard McKenzie Moore (198-92, college: UTEP) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import Antwaine Wiggins (203-88, college: Charleston) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive 26-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 26-0 record. Loser Lavrio dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Kymis.
