Regular Season Round 2: Leones - Atenas 62-65

A very close game took place in Riobamba between Atenas and Leones. Atenas (4-0) got a very close victory on the road over Leones (1-2). Atenas managed to escape with a 3-point win 65-62 on Monday evening. Atenas had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Russian power forward Mariya Davydova (190-93, college: FIU, agency: ProDep Management) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and French Rudiane Eduardo (185-93, college: UTEP, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American Vee Young (186-89, college: Martin Methodist) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) scored 19 points. Leones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Atenas will meet Deportivo Quito (#5) on the road in the next round. Leones will play against Lums in Ambato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
