Important game to mention about took place in Quito. Deportivo Quito (2-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging Leones (2-3) 75-74 in the fight for the third place. It was a great evening for American center Britany Miller (192-87, college: Florida St., agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Dayanna Salcedo (176-89) helped adding 15 points. Deportivo Quito's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Vee Young (186-89, college: Martin Methodist) with 23 points and the other American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Deportivo Quito will play against Lums (#5) in Ambato in the next round. Leones will play at home against Santa Maria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
