Very expected game when 9th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (6-17) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Frayles de Guasave (13-10) 93-89. Frayles de Guasave players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. His fellow American import point guard Jaron Martin (178, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Stedmon Lemon (198-92, college: Johnson C. Smith) answered with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Pioneros Los Mochis. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Frayles de Guasave have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Durango and Tijuana. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round. Pioneros Los Mochis will play again at home against Frayles de Guasave (#5) and hope to win that game.
