Regular Season Round 23: Mazatlan - Durango 90-87

Bottom-ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged fourth-ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango 90-87. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aguilas Doradas de Durango. Lobos UAD Mazatlan players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. American guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) accounted for 24 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-91, college: Jackson St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 assists and the other American import Jevonlean Hedgeman (201, college: La-Lafayette) added 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Aguilas Doradas de Durango in the defeat. Five Lobos UAD Mazatlan and four Aguilas Doradas de Durango players scored in double figures. Lobos UAD Mazatlan (7-16) moved-up to ninth place. Aguilas Doradas de Durango at the other side dropped to the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Guasave and Tijuana. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will again play against higher ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aguilas Doradas de Durango will have a break next round.
