Regular Season Round 24: Navolato - Culiacan 84-85

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (16-8) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by seventh ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (12-12) 85-84. It was a good game for American guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American forward Jesse Lopez (201-94, college: Sam Houston St.) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Hameed Ali (188-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 23 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Garra Canera de Navolato. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Garra Canera de Navolato's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains seventh position with 12-12 record. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan are looking forward to face Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#9) on the road in the next round. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
