Regular Season Round 32: Maccabi T-A - Ironi Nes-Ziona 98-95

Eighth-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (13-19) made lots of trouble for second ranked Maccabi T-A (22-10) in Tel-Aviv. Maccabi T-A managed to secure only three-point victory 98-95. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 9-point deficit before their 37-25 run, which allowed them to win the game. Maccabi T-A players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 4 assists. American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Maccabi T-A's coach Neven Spahija allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Nigerian power forward Talib Zanna (206-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: 3Eye) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American guard Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple, agency: Pensack Sports) added 19 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hapoel Holon. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona keeps the eighth place with 19 games lost. Maccabi T-A will play against Bnei Hasharon (#10) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play at home against Hapoel Jerusalem and hopes to get back on the winning track.
