Regular Season Round 32: Hapoel T-A - Hapoel Eilat 81-76

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv's (19-13) home victory over 6th ranked Hapoel Eilat (16-16) 81-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Eilat won third quarter 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by American guard Jerel McNeal (190-87, college: Marquette) who scored that evening 16 points and the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Danny Franco used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals by American guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Eilat. International swingman Amit Simhon (198-89, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 22 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the guests. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Eilat at the other side keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's next round opponent will be Ironi Nahariya (#9) on the road where they are favorite. Hapoel Eilat will play against Galil Gilboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
