Regular Season Round 11: Mandurah M. - Lakeside L. 80-106

Date: May 18, 2018
Not a big story in a game in Mandurah where 14th ranked Magic (3-9) was rolled over by eighth ranked Lightning (6-7) 106-80 on Friday. Magic was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Center Jarrad Prue (198-82) helped adding 4 points and 17 rebounds. Four Lightning players scored in double figures. American swingman Jamal Shabazz (198-94, college: Samford) responded with 26 points and the other American import guard Shaun Stewart (180-94, college: Limestone) scored 16 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Lightning went down to ninth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Magic dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. Lightning will face higher ranked Cougars (#8) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Magic will play on the road against the league's leader Wanneroo (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
