Regular Season Round 34: Poitiers - Denain 91-81

We should mention about the upset which took place in Poitiers, where higher ranked Denain Voltaire (16-18) lost to sixteenth ranked Poitiers (11-23) in a road game 81-91. It looked good early as Denain Voltaire took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Poitiers had a 29-18 second period charge getting the lead and Denain Voltaire was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-91. Poitiers made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Denain Voltaire was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 25 points (made all of his seven free throws). Senegalese Ibrahima Faye (207-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St., agency: KMG Sports Management) replied with 21 points and 7 assists and Antoine Wallez (205-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Denain Voltaire. Poitiers moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Quimper. Denain Voltaire at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Evreux.
