Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Caen (12-22) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Lille Metropole (23-11) 89-76. The game without a history. Lille Metropole led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Lille Metropole players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85) notched 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Thomas Cornely (190-91, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Caen. American forward Greg Smith (198-91, college: Colorado St.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lille Metropole have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 23-11 record. Caen at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with 22 games lost.
