Quarter-Finals Round 3: Lietkabelis - Siauliai 92-68

The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. Siauliai was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietkabelis dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai's 30. They outrebounded Siauliai 34-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Lietkabelis players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Latvian swingman Zanis Peiners (207-90) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian guard Dominik Mavra (195-94) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. International power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) came up with 24 points and 7 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) added 19 points and 9 assists respectively for Siauliai in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
