Regular Season Round 11: Ballarat M. - Frankston B. 115-94
Date: May 19, 2018
There was no surprise in Wendouree where 8th ranked Frankston Blues (1-10) were outplayed by second ranked Ballarat Miners (6-1) 115-94 on Saturday. Ballarat Miners looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Davon Usher (198-92, college: Delaware) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 steals. His fellow American import forward Marvin King-Davis (201-93, college: Delaware) helped adding 26 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Dan Trist (206-92, college: Lafayette) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Bennie Lewis (203-87, college: Benedict) scored 23 points and 7 assists. Four Ballarat Miners and five Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Ballarat Miners keep a position of League leader. Loser Frankston Blues keep the eighth place with ten games lost. Ballarat Miners will face NW Tasmania Thunder (#6) in Ulverstone in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Frankston Blues will play on the road against BA CoE in Canberra and hope to win that game.
