There was a surprise result in Gawler where ninth ranked Central District Lions (2-7) edged 4th placed North Adelaide Rockets (6-3) 91-88 on Saturday. Central District Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to North Adelaide Rockets' 30. They outrebounded North Adelaide Rockets 41-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Jimma Dau who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Keith Jumper (203-94, college: Pfeiffer) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Central District Lions' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Alexander Starling (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and South Sudanese forward Atem Atem (203-91) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Central District Lions moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser North Adelaide Rockets keep the fourth position with three games lost. Central District Lions will face Eastern Mavericks (#9) in Mt. Barker in the next round. North Adelaide Rockets will play on the road against South Adelaide Panthers (#7) in Park Holme and hope to win that game.
