Everything went according to plan in Cheltenham where fourth ranked Geelong Supercats (4-4) edged 7th ranked Sabres (2-8) 97-96 on Saturday. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points. American forward John Davis (196-94, college: Towson) helped adding 24 points and 12 rebounds. Nigerian-American guard Anthony Odunsi (193-92, college: Houston Baptist, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American center Reggis Onwukamuche (208-92, college: Prairie View A&M) scored 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Sabres players scored in double figures. Geelong Supercats maintains fourth place in League with 4-4 record. Loser Sabres keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Geelong Supercats will face Bandits (#5) in Albury in the next round. Sabres will play at home against Tigers and hope to win that game.
