Not a big story in a game in Runcorn where 12th ranked Toowoomba Mountaineers (1-4) were defeated by seventh ranked South West Metro Pirates (4-2) 90-75 on Saturday. South West Metro Pirates had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Toowoomba Mountaineers were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American guard Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: San Jose St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jarred Bairstow (201-92, college: Cent.Oklahoma) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four South West Metro Pirates players scored in double figures. South West Metro Pirates' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Harold Ridgeway (203, college: Midland) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Damon Bozeman (190, college: Saginaw Valley) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. South West Metro Pirates moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Toowoomba Mountaineers keep the twelfth position with four games lost. South West Metro Pirates will have a break next round. Toowoomba Mountaineers will play on the road against Ipswich Force (#10) in Booval and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
