Very predictable result when first ranked Mackay Meteors (5-1) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Gladstone Port City Power (0-4) 110-94 on Saturday. Mackay Meteors made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Gladstone Port City Power only scored eight points from the stripe. Gladstone Port City Power was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Chris Cedar (188-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. The former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) helped adding 29 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Taylor Young (193-90, college: Warner Pacific) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import swingman Casey Walker (196-92, college: Delaware St.) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mackay Meteors maintains first place in League with 5-1 record.
