Regular Season Round 11: Geelong S. - Nunawading S. 85-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Spectres' (7-1) road victory over 4th placed Geelong Supercats (4-4) 86-85 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Spectres made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. Thomas Wright helped adding 19 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. American forward John Davis (196-94, college: Towson) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spectres moved-up to second place in League. Loser Geelong Supercats keep the fourth position with four games lost. Spectres will face league's leader Kilsyth Cobras on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Geelong Supercats will play against Bandits in Albury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
