Regular Season Round 33: Zaragoza - Fuenlabrada 102-108

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Zaragoza (10-23) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (16-17) 108-102. It looked good early as Zaragoza took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Baloncesto Fuenlabrada had a 27-22 second period charge getting the lead and Zaragoza was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 102-108. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Croatian point guard Marko Popovic (185-82, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: Alti Sport) nailed 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists for the winning side and British center Gabriel Olaseni (211-91, college: Iowa) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Baloncesto Fuenlabrada players scored in double figures. Canadian-Jamaican point guard Dylan Ennis (187-91, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 30 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin-Serbian power forward Milko Bjelica (207-84, agency: BeoBasket) added 19 points respectively for Zaragoza in the defeat. Zaragoza's coach Pep Cargol let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada maintains tenth place with 16-17 record. Zaragoza at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 23 games lost. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's next round opponent will be Gipuzkoa (#13) in San Sebastian. Zaragoza will play on the road against FC Barcelona and hope to win that game.
