There was an upset in Cranbourne where second-ranked Waverley Falcons (8-3) were defeated by seventh ranked Casey C. (5-5) 96-86 on Sunday. Casey C. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Waverley Falcons' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Raheem Lemons (196-93, college: Central State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Brandon Polk helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Casey C. players scored in double figures. Center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and forward Chris Arkell (198-90) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Casey C. maintains seventh place in League with 5-5 record. Loser Waverley Falcons keep the second position with three games lost. Casey C. will face Devils (#9) in Werribee in the next round. Waverley Falcons will play at home against Magic (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
