Regular Season Round 33: Gipuzkoa GBC - Joventut 92-87

No shocking result in a game in San Sebastian where thirteenth ranked Gipuzkoa (13-20) defeated 15th ranked Joventut (11-21) 92-87. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Gipuzkoa players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) nailed 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side and American-Nigerian power forward Danny Agbelese (206-90, college: Hampton) accounted for 15 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Argentinian guard Nicolas Laprovittola (190-90) came up with 16 points and 9 assists and Polish forward Tomasz Gielo (205-93, college: Mississippi) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Joventut in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Gipuzkoa maintains thirteenth place with 13-20 record. Joventut at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. Gipuzkoa's next round opponent will be higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#10) in Madrid and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Joventut will play at home against Unicaja Malaga (#6) and hope to win that game.
