Regular Season Round 34: Fuenlabrada - Gipuzkoa GBC 84-70

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (17-17) won against 13th ranked Gipuzkoa (13-21) in Madrid 84-70. The game was mostly controlled by Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. Gipuzkoa was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Latvian power forward Rolands Smits (207-95) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Xabier Beraza (195-99) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Estudiantes and UCAM Murcia. Newly promoted Gipuzkoa keeps the thirteenth position with 21 games lost.
