Semi-Finals Game 3: Steaua CSM - UBT Cluj Napoca 79-71

Steaua CSM held off UBT Cluj Napoca to avoid elimination. It looked good early as UBT Cluj Napoca took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Steaua CSM had a 20-14 second period charge getting the lead and UBT Cluj Napoca was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-79. It was a good game for American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import swingman Jonte Flowers (196-85, college: Winona St.) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. International point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 18 points and Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (204-88, agency: BeoBasket) added 9 points in the effort for UBT Cluj Napoca. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
