No shocking result in a game in Hamilton Hill where first ranked Lightning (11-1) won against 9th ranked Cougars (4-8) 100-89 on Saturday. Lightning made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Cougars were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Sydnee Fipps (178, college: Cal-Davis) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and power forward Ashleigh Grant (187-97) who added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Kisha Lee (182-85, college: UNLV) with 29 points and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Brianna Moyes (170, college: Akron) scored 19 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lightning maintains first position in League with 11-1 record. Loser Cougars keep the ninth place with eight games lost. Lightning will face Tigers (#3) in Willetton in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cougars will play at home against the league's second-placed Flames (#2) and hope to win that game.
