Regular Season Round 12: Southern T. - Sturt S. 68-78

There was no surprise in Morphett Vale where 5th ranked Tigers (5-5) were defeated by second ranked Sabres (9-1) 78-68 on Saturday. Strangely Tigers outrebounded Sabres 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Chelsea Brook (188-98) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds and Lauren Gibbons (-91) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Sabres players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Demi Skinner (-97) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Denelle Fawcett scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sabres maintains second position in League with 9-1 record having just one point less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Tigers keep the fifth place with five games lost. Sabres will face Bearcats (#6) in Woodville in the next round. Tigers will play at home against Mavericks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
