No shocking result in a game in Albury where fourth ranked Geelong Supercats (6-4) defeated 6th ranked Bandits (4-6) 93-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Geelong Supercats. Bandits was better in second period 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Geelong Supercats forced 19 Bandits turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward John Davis (196-94, college: Towson) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) chipped in 24 points. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Geelong Supercats' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Rashad Hassan (203-89, college: Savannah St.) added 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively. Geelong Supercats maintains fourth position in League with 6-4 record. Loser Bandits keep the sixth place with six games lost. Geelong Supercats will face Frankston Blues (#8) in Seaford in the next round. Bandits will play at home against Sabres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
