Regular Season Round 12: BA CoE - Frankston B. 47-87

There was a small surprise in Canberra where eighth ranked Frankston Blues (1-11) smashed 8th ranked BA CoE (2-11) 87-47 on Saturday. The game without a history. Frankston Blues led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BA CoE to just 3 points in first quarter. Frankston Blues dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BA CoE's 26. Frankston Blues forced 23 BA CoE turnovers and had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Frankston Blues especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BA CoE's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 assists and the former international point guard Samantha Richards (167-83) who added 17 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Adelaide Fuller with 10 points and 8 rebounds and center Isabelle Bourne (186-0) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Frankston Blues maintains eighth position in League with 1-11 record which they share with defeated BA CoE. Loser BA CoE keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Frankston Blues will face higher ranked Geelong Supercats (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
