Everything could happen in Hamilton Hill at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Lightning and 9th ranked Cougars had identical 6-7 record. But Cougars were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from North Lake 85-81 on Saturday night. Lightning made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Lightning outrebounded Cougars 48-34 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Jarrad Prue (198-82) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 29 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists. Four Lightning players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) who recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lightning (7-7) moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Cougars keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Lightning will face higher ranked Tigers (#6) in Willetton in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cougars will play at home against Flames and hope to win that game.
