Not a big story in a game in Cheltenham where 7th ranked Sabres (2-10) were defeated by third ranked Tigers (7-3) 91-87 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sabres won third quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was guard Tom Wilson (195-97, college: SMU) who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (198-91, college: Washington St.) chipped in 20 points and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Alister Macdonald (186-92) who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-American guard Anthony Odunsi (193-92, college: Houston Baptist, agency: Haylett Sports) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tigers maintains third position in League with 7-3 record having just six point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Sabres keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Tigers will face league's leader Ballarat Miners in Wendouree in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sabres will play on the road against Bandits (#6) in Albury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
