There was a small surprise in Terrigal where seventh ranked Crusaders (5-6) beat 4th ranked Sydney City Comets (7-4) 76-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Sydney City Comets 52-27 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Mitchell Rueter (198, college: Cent.Arkansas) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Callum Jenkins chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Crusaders' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jaden Weldon (185, college: Delta St.) who recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and D Carniel added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Crusaders maintains seventh position in League with 5-6 record. Loser Sydney City Comets dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Crusaders will face Spiders (#9) in Hornsby in the next round. Sydney City Comets will play on the road against the league's second-placed Newcastle Hunters (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
