Undefeated leader Guaros delivered the fourth consecutive victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Toros (1-3) 91-79 in Maracay. Guaros players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Guard Heldrin Guillent (180-98) nailed 15 points and 8 assists for the winning side and the former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 13 points and 7 assists. Five Guaros players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and international guard Edwin Mijares (186-94) added 18 points respectively for Toros in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guaros have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place in Western Conference with 4-0 record. Toros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with three games lost. Guaros will have a break next round. Toros will play again at home against the league's leader Guaros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
