An interesting game for Guaros (7-0) which played road game in Maracay against 3rd ranked Toros (1-6). Top-ranked Guaros managed to get a 6-point victory 100-94. Guaros players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Heldrin Guillent (180-98) scored 19 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Mario Little (198-87, college: Kansas) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Alejandro Barrios (204-79) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toros' coach Israel Sarmiento rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Guaros have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position in Western Conference with 7-0 record. Toros lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Guaros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toros will play on the road against Gaiteros in Maracaibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
