Mersin coasted past Izmit in the Finals opener. Mersin MBK dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Izmit's 24. They outrebounded Izmit 40-23 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mersin MBK looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Izmit's players. Forward Asli Sevinc (178-79, agency: Fly Basketball) stepped up and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and American-FYR Macedonian forward Ashley Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Mersin MBK players scored in double figures. Mersin MBK's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Berrin Karabas (190-87) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Deniz Dogan (176-94) scored 19 points.
