Regular Season Round 13: Mandurah M. - SW Slammers 81-84

A very interesting game took place in Mandurah. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Magic (7-5) to eighth ranked Slammers (5-7) 84-81 on Friday evening. Slammers made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Forward Courtney Bayliss (183-93, college: Our Lady Lake) nailed 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Tayah Burrows accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Slovakian center Regina Palusna (192-89) came up with 19 points and guard Rachel Pettit (-97) added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Magic in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Slammers maintains eighth place in League with 5-7 record. Magic at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Slammers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Tigers (#4) in Willetton and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
